Nutrients activate distinct patterns of small-intestinal enteric neurons
Here we explored how neurons in the gut respond to basic nutrients that we typically ingest and tested whether they can distinguish between different nutrients 🔬

Optical approaches to understanding enteric circuits along the radial axis
In this book chapter, we discuss the functional connectivity between the myenteric and submucosal plexus, and methodologies that can help advance our understanding of the enteric circuitry and signaling along the mucosa-serosa axis.

Microbes and microbial metabolites may impact intestinal physiology via an interaction with the enteric nervous system (ENS). In this paper, we examined how the colonic epithelium and ENS respond to the mucosal application of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and 5-HT.
